Okay. You'll need to get a blank canvas, yarn, and a latch hook which you can get at Hobby Lobby. I make my patterns on here: www.leftsource.com you just upload any photo you want and print out the pattern. It'll show you the colors of yarn you'll need and where to put them. The website also has instructions on how to put the yarn on. Here: [link] and it also has other places to where you can get the supplies for the projects. Afterwards, you can decide what you want to make it into once it's completed. (EX: pillows, wall hangings, bags, etc.) Which the instructions on how to turn it into these things can be found online through google. Well, good luck!
